S2Media™ Sabouraud Dextrose Agar
S²Media™ prepared Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) is a selective, nutrient-rich culture medium for the cultivation, isolation, and maintenance of fungi. Peptone digests and dextrose provide nutrients to support fungal growth, while the acidic pH helps suppress competing bacterial flora. SDA is specified by the Harmonized USP/EP/JP Pharmacopoeia for microbiological testing of nonsterile products, including the isolation and identification of Candida albicans and maintenance of fungal test strains. SDA conforms to harmonized pharmacopeial performance requirements and is not intended for the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
