S2Media™ Malt Extract Agar w/ 0.01% Chloramphenicol (MEA w/CHL)
S2Media™ Malt Extract Agar with 0.01% Chloramphenicol (MEA with CHL) is a selective culture medium for the cultivation, isolation, and maintenance of yeasts and molds. Malt extract provides carbohydrates, nitrogenous compounds, vitamins, and other nutrients that support fungal growth, while chloramphenicol suppresses susceptible bacterial flora to improve recovery of fungi from mixed or potentially contaminated samples. The medium is well suited for fungal isolation and culture applications in environmental, food and beverage, and other microbiological testing programs. This medium is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
