S2Media™ Lauryl Sulfate Broth (LSB)
S2Media™ Lauryl Sulfate Broth (single strength) is a selective enrichment medium for the presumptive detection and enumeration of coliform bacteria in water, wastewater, food, dairy, and other samples. Sodium lauryl sulfate suppresses competing non-coliform organisms while supporting lactose fermentation by coliforms, indicated by acid and gas production. The medium is commonly used in the presumptive phase of multiple-tube fermentation and Most Probable Number (MPN) methods for microbiological quality and sanitation testing. Lauryl Sulfate Broth is not intended for the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
