S2Media™ Sabouraud Dextrose Agar, Emmons
S2Media™ Sabouraud Dextrose Agar, Emmons is a general-purpose, non-selective medium for the isolation, cultivation, and maintenance of yeasts and molds from clinical and nonclinical specimens. The Emmons modification contains a reduced dextrose concentration and a near-neutral pH, supporting enhanced recovery and maintenance of fungi while helping preserve characteristic fungal morphology during cultivation and subculture. Peptones provide nitrogenous compounds and amino acids required for fungal growth, while dextrose serves as an energy source. Deep-fill plates help minimize dehydration during the prolonged incubation periods frequently required for fungal cultures. This medium is not intended to be used as the sole basis for the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans
