Chameleon™ COLOREX™ Salmonella Plus
Chameleon™ COLOREX™ Salmonella Plus prepared culture media plates by S²Media are manufactured using original CHROMagar™ raw materials. This selective chromogenic medium is intended for the isolation, differentiation, and presumptive identification of Salmonella species, including lactose-positive Salmonella, from food and environmental samples. The medium is ISO 6579-1 compliant and provides distinct chromogenic differentiation to support the rapid detection of Salmonella in food safety, environmental monitoring, and quality control applications. Presumptive isolates should be confirmed using appropriate identification methods.
👉 Key Performance Features:
ISO 6579-1 Compliant: Detects both lactose-fermenting and non-lactose-fermenting Salmonella in accordance with ISO 6579-1 requirements.
Chromogenic Differentiation: Presumptive Salmonella produce intense mauve colonies, while Escherichia coli remain colorless, improving colony visibility and interpretation.
High Performance: Demonstrates 99% sensitivity for the detection of Salmonella, including lactose-positive strains.
Enhanced Specificity: Distinct chromogenic reactions reduce interference from background flora, improving recovery of target organisms and simplifying result interpretation.
📌Optional Supplement: This product can be supplemented to provide an opaque background for enhanced colony contrast and visualization. Contact us today if you are interested in this option.
📌Optional Enrichment: Chameleon™ RambaQUICK™ Salmonella prepared tubes may be used as a selective enrichment broth prior to inoculation of Chameleon™ COLOREX™ Salmonella Plus to support improved recovery of Salmonella spp.
