CHROMagar™ Salmonella, 5000mL

Quantity

CHROMagar™ Salmonella is a selective chromogenic culture medium for the direct detection, differentiation, and presumptive identification of Salmonella species from clinical specimens (stool and rectal swabs), food products, animal feed, and environmental samples. Following 18-24 hours of aerobic incubation at 35-37°C, the medium provides chromogenic differentiation to support the detection of Salmonella spp. Suspect isolates require confirmatory identification and, where appropriate, additional microbiological or epidemiological testing.

👉 Key Performance Features:

  • Rapid Detection: Detects presumptive Salmonella spp. within 24-48 hours using distinct chromogenic colony coloration.

Chromogenic Differentiation: Target Salmonella produce intense mauve colonies, enabling rapid recognition and simplified interpretation.

Enhanced Specificity: Reduces false positives commonly associated with H₂S-based media by differentiating Salmonella from organisms such as Citrobacter and Proteus spp.

High Performance: Demonstrates high sensitivity and specificity, improving recovery and detection of clinically and environmentally significant Salmonella isolates.

Improved Laboratory Efficiency: Minimizes unnecessary confirmatory testing and reduces workload by limiting non-target colony evaluation.
