CHROMagar™ MRSA (RUO), 5000mL
CHROMagar™ MRSA (RUO) is a selective chromogenic culture medium for the qualitative detection and differentiation of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) from anterior nares, perineal, and other clinical specimens. Following 18-24 hours of aerobic incubation at 35-37°C, the medium enables rapid presumptive identification of MRSA to support colonization screening, infection prevention, and surveillance programs. Presumptive isolates require confirmatory identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and epidemiological characterization.
👉 Key Performance Features:
High Analytical Performance: Demonstrates excellent sensitivity and specificity for the selective detection of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), providing improved recovery compared to traditional oxacillin-based media.
Rapid Chromogenic Detection: Produces intense mauve MRSA colonies following 18-24 hours of incubation for rapid presumptive identification.
Enhanced Screening Efficiency: Supports high-throughput MRSA surveillance and colonization screening by reducing laboratory workload and turnaround time.
Proven Technology: The first commercially available chromogenic medium developed specifically for MRSA detection, with extensive use in clinical microbiology laboratories worldwide.
