CHROMagar™ KPC (RUO), 5000mL
CHROMagar™ KPC (RUO) is a selective chromogenic culture medium for the qualitative detection and differentiation of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) from rectal swabs and stool specimens. Following 18-24 hours of aerobic incubation at 35-37°C, the medium produces characteristic colony colors that enable the rapid presumptive identification of CRE colonization, supporting infection prevention and surveillance programs in healthcare settings. CHROMagar™ KPC is intended as a screening tool and is not intended to diagnose infection or guide antimicrobial therapy. Presumptive isolates should be confirmed by appropriate organism identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and epidemiological characterization.
📌 This product is labeled for Research Use Only (RUO).
👉 Key Performance Features:
Rapid Detection: Enables presumptive detection of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) following 18-24 hours of aerobic incubation at 35-37°C.
Direct Sample Plating: Eliminates the need for selective pre-enrichment, reducing hands-on time and streamlining laboratory workflow.
High Analytical Performance: Demonstrated 97.8% sensitivity and 100% specificity for CRE detection under analytical evaluation.
Superior Clinical Performance: Achieved 100% sensitivity and 98.4% specificity from rectal swab specimens, outperforming conventional MacConkey agar in published clinical studies.
