CHROMagar™ C. perfringens is a selective chromogenic culture medium for the detection and enumeration of Clostridium perfringens in food, environmental, and other microbiological samples. The medium enables rapid presumptive identification through chromogenic differentiation, supporting routine food safety, environmental monitoring, and quality control applications. C. perfringens is a spore-forming, toxin-producing anaerobe commonly associated with foodborne illness and is an important indicator organism in food microbiology and public health surveillance.

Flexible Inoculation Methods: Compatible with surface plating, direct streaking, spread plating, and membrane filtration, eliminating the overlay agar technique required for conventional TSC media.
Enhanced Specificity: Selectively detects Clostridium perfringens while minimizing recovery of non-target sulfate-reducing bacteria commonly detected on TSC agar.
Improved Colony Visualization: Distinct orange colonies provide excellent contrast for simplified detection and accurate enumeration, avoiding the diffuse black colonies and color fading associated with TSC media that can complicate colony counting.
