CHROMagar™ COL-APSE (RUO), 5000mL
CHROMagar™ COL-APSE (RUO) is a selective chromogenic culture medium for the qualitative detection of colistin-resistant Gram-negative bacteria (COL-R) from rectal swabs, perineal swabs, stool specimens, and selected food, animal, and environmental samples. Following 18-24 hours of aerobic incubation at 35-37°C, the medium enables rapid presumptive identification of COL-R organisms to support antimicrobial resistance surveillance, infection prevention, and environmental monitoring. CHROMagar™ COL-APSE is intended as a screening tool and is not intended for the diagnosis of infection or to guide antimicrobial therapy. Presumptive isolates require confirmation by organism identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and epidemiological characterization.
📌 This product is labeled for Research Use Only (RUO).
👉 Key Performance Features:
Broad Screening Application: Suitable for the detection of colistin-resistant Gram-negative bacteria (COL-R) from clinical, food, animal feed, livestock, and environmental samples.
Chromogenic Differentiation: Distinct colony coloration enables rapid presumptive differentiation of Escherichia coli, other coliforms, Pseudomonas spp., and Acinetobacter spp. exhibiting acquired colistin resistance.
High Analytical Sensitivity: Demonstrates a limit of detection of approximately 10 CFU/mL, supporting sensitive recovery of low-level COL-R organisms.
Supports Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance: Facilitates efficient screening for colistin-resistant Gram-negative bacteria as part of antimicrobial resistance monitoring and infection prevention programs.
