CHROMagar™ C3GR (RUO), 5000mL
CHROMagar™ C3GR (RUO) is a selective chromogenic culture medium intended for the qualitative detection of gastrointestinal colonization by third-generation cephalosporin-resistant Enterobacterales (3GC-R Enterobacterales) from rectal swabs and stool specimens. Following 18-24 hours of aerobic incubation at 35-37°C, the medium enables rapid presumptive identification of resistant organisms to support infection prevention, surveillance, and antimicrobial resistance screening programs. CHROMagar™ C3GR may also serve as an early indicator of potential multidrug-resistant organisms; however, it is not intended for the diagnosis of infection or to guide antimicrobial therapy. Presumptive isolates require confirmation by appropriate identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and epidemiological characterization.
📌 This product is labeled for Research Use Only (RUO).
👉 Key Performance Features:
Rapid Detection: Presumptive third-generation cephalosporin-resistant Enterobacterales (3GC-R Enterobacterales) are detected following overnight incubation, enabling timely screening and infection control decisions.
Chromogenic Differentiation: Built on the performance of CHROMagar™ Orientation, the selective supplement enables simultaneous recovery and differentiation of clinically relevant β-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales based on colony color.
Streamlined Workflow: Supports direct inoculation from clinical specimens, eliminating the need for selective pre-enrichment and reducing laboratory turnaround time.
High Recovery of Resistant Organisms: Selective formulation is designed to recover a broad range of β-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales, including plasmid-mediated AmpC-producing strains, improving detection of clinically significant resistance mechanisms.
