Chameleon™ COLOREX™ LIM RambaQUICK™ StrepB (RUO), 5mL Tubes
Chameleon™ COLOREX™ LIM RambaQUICK™ StrepB prepared tubes by S²Media are manufactured using original CHROMagar™ raw materials. This selective enrichment broth is intended for the recovery of Group B Streptococcus (GBS; Streptococcus agalactiae) from vaginal and anorectal specimens during prenatal GBS screening. The optimized formulation promotes GBS enrichment while suppressing competing Enterococcus spp. that may interfere with recovery and contribute to false-negative culture results. Used in conjunction with Chameleon™ COLOREX™ StrepB prepared plates, LIM RambaQUICK™ StrepB provides a selective enrichment and chromogenic culture workflow designed to improve the sensitivity and efficiency of GBS colonization screening.
Key Performance Features:
Enhanced Enterococcus Suppression: Selective formulation substantially reduces growth of competing Enterococcus spp. while supporting recovery of Group B Streptococcus (GBS).
Improved GBS Recovery: Reduced interference from anorectal flora helps minimize masking of GBS and supports increased sensitivity of prenatal colonization screening.
Rapid Selective Enrichment: Supports optimal differentiation after approximately 6 hours of enrichment, as demonstrated in the Poisson et al. study, while remaining compatible with conventional overnight incubation workflows.
Streamlined Screening Workflow: Designed for enrichment of vaginal and anorectal specimens prior to subculture for GBS detection.
Enhanced Chromogenic Subculture: When used with Chameleon™ COLOREX™ StrepB media, selective enrichment improves plate readability, with presumptive GBS producing characteristic intense mauve colonies.
Optimized Prenatal Screening: Provides a targeted enrichment step designed specifically to improve culture-based detection of GBS colonization in prenatal screening programs.
