AquaCHROM™ ECC is a chromogenic medium recommended for the detection and enumeration of Escherichia coli and total coliforms in 100mL water samples using Presence/Absence and Most Probable Number (MPN) methods. Detection of these organisms is used worldwide to assess compliance with water quality standards.

Rapid Detection of E. coli and Coliforms: Designed for the simultaneous detection and differentiation of Escherichia coli and other lactose-fermenting coliforms in water samples, supporting routine monitoring of drinking water and environmental water quality.
Simple Test Procedure: Add one pre-weighed AquaCHROM™ ECC dose to 100mL of the sample, mix, and incubate at 37°C for 18-24 hours. No additional reagents or preparation steps are required.
Visual Interpretation: Results are interpreted under ambient light using dual chromogenic substrates for direct differentiation of E. coli and other coliforms, eliminating the need for fluorescence-based detection or UV lamps.
Field-Deployable Format: Suitable for laboratory and field applications. When incubators are unavailable, samples may be incubated at ambient temperature with an extended incubation period, allowing reliable visual interpretation under daylight.
Supports Water Quality Monitoring: Enables rapid screening for indicator organisms associated with fecal and environmental contamination, facilitating compliance with water quality monitoring programs and public health surveillance.
